Position Overview
A facility in Newark, NJ is seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician to provide high-acuity coverage. The ED sees 85,000+ annual visits with full specialty backup, advanced imaging, and a dedicated fast-track area.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage high-acuity emergency patients
- Perform critical procedures including intubation, central lines, chest tubes, and procedural sedation
- Lead trauma activations and cardiac arrest resuscitations
- Supervise and collaborate with PAs, NPs, and resident physicians
- Coordinate admissions and transfers with inpatient and specialty services
Requirements
- Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
- Active New Jersey medical license or compact license
- Minimum 2 years of post-residency ED experience
- ATLS, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications current
- Comfort with high-volume, high-acuity urban ED environments
