Position Overview
A medical center in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Physician Assistant for neurosurgery coverage. The role involves surgical first-assist, inpatient rounding, and clinic coverage across spine and cranial neurosurgery cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide surgical first-assist for cranial and spine neurosurgery cases
- Round on neurosurgery inpatients and manage post-operative care
- Conduct outpatient clinic visits and pre-operative assessments
- Place and manage external ventricular drains and lumbar drains
- Coordinate with neurology, rehab, and critical care teams
Requirements
- Active PA-C certification (NCCPA)
- Active New York PA license or willingness to obtain
- Minimum 2 years of neurosurgery PA experience
- Surgical first-assist certification preferred
- BLS and ACLS certifications current
