Position Overview
A leading medical center in Detroit, MI is seeking a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist for general and regional anesthesia coverage across multiple OR suites. The facility performs 60+ cases per day spanning orthopedics, general surgery, vascular, and ENT with a robust anesthesia care team model.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general anesthesia for a mix of elective and emergent surgical cases
- Perform regional and neuraxial blocks including spinals, epidurals, and peripheral nerve blocks
- Supervise CRNAs in a care team model (1:2 to 1:3 ratio)
- Manage pre-operative evaluations and post-anesthesia care
- Respond to airway emergencies and rapid response calls as needed
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology (ABA)
- Active Michigan medical license or IMLC eligibility
- Experience with regional anesthesia techniques required
- Comfortable in a teaching environment with residents
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications current
